The NSS unit in the college was started in 1972 with 50 students under the S.V.University, Tirupati. In the year 1984, it is brought under Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur. Currently there are 5 NSS units with 100 volunteers in each unit making a total of 500 for the entire college.


Major Achievements

 

  • Four (boys) NSS volunteers & Two (girls) NSS volunteers have attended Republic Day Camp, New Delhi.
  • Best NSS Program Officer has been awarded to
    • T. Narayana Swami, Lecturer in English, (SKU)
    • N. Rangaswami, Lecturer in Political Science (Kakatiya University)
    • M. V. Chandrasekhar, Lecturer in Chemsitry (SKU)
    • R. Raghurama Murthy, Lecturer in Political Science (SKU)
  • Nearly 3000 saplings have been planted in S.K.University Campus.
  • A total of 150 NSS volunteers have attended National Integration Camps, Adventure Camps, Pre-Republic Day Camps
  • Many volunteers have participated in cultural activites at University Level, State Level & National Level and secured many First & Second
  • Medical Camps are conducted once in a year, every year, for last 10 years.
  • District Level Youth Leadership Training Programs have been organized.
  • District Level Aids Control Awareness Programs have been organized.
  • All the NSS Program Officers have attended as Resource Persons in different college of the district to englight the students on Aids Awareness and NSS activities.
  • Blood Donation Camps are conducted twice in a year.
  • A Perennial Blood Donation Camp has been organized in the year 2010, with camp running for a total of 100 days continuously, resulted in blood donation by 968 (618 boys, 350 girls) members. The Camp has received many aclods from eminent people like Superindent of Police (M K Singh), Collector (Mr. Janardhan Reddy) of the district along the State Ministers.
